WELCOME

ART OF WAR PROJECT
Our most basic mission is to teach, make, and share art. The rest takes care of itself. We are a program where Peer Veterans, Active Duty Military, First Responders and their Families can create and connect through art and recreation.

Ultimately we believe in the power of ART as a healing and visual language.  One that allows intense personal insight to be gained by the participant.  We as a society gain a vastly deepened network of visual/psychological power and cohesion by cultivating an artistic language that can be shared by all people

The Art of War Project is a dedicated non-profit organization committed to empowering veterans and first responders as they navigate the complex challenges of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), military sexual trauma (MST), homelessness, and addiction. Recognizing the unique sacrifices and struggles of these individuals, our mission is to provide comprehensive, holistic support that fosters healing, resilience, and reintegration into society.

At the heart of our approach is the belief that healing is multifaceted and deeply personal. To address the diverse needs of our participants, we offer a range of programs and services tailored to promote mental, emotional, and physical well-being:

  • Art Therapy: Creative expression can be a powerful tool for processing trauma and emotions. Through structured art therapy sessions, participants have the opportunity to explore their feelings, tell their stories, and find peace in the process of creation.
  • Recreation Therapy: Physical activity and recreational engagement are critical for mental health and recovery. From outdoor adventures to group fitness activities, we help participants build confidence, reduce stress, and reconnect with a sense of joy and purpose.
  • Re-Entry into the Workforce: Employment is a cornerstone of stability and self-worth. We provide career counseling, skills training, and job placement support to help our participants secure meaningful employment and rebuild their lives.
  • Pet Therapy: The unconditional love and companionship of animals can offer profound emotional support. Our pet therapy program connects participants with trained animals to reduce anxiety, improve mood, and foster trust.
  • Socialization and Living Skills: Reintegration into society often requires rebuilding fundamental skills and connections. We offer workshops and peer support groups that focus on communication, conflict resolution, and essential life skills to help participants thrive in their communities.

The Art of War Project is more than just a support network; it is a community of individuals who understand the courage it takes to ask for help and the strength it takes to rebuild. We work hand-in-hand with our participants, offering them not just resources but also a sense of belonging and hope.

By combining evidence-based therapeutic practices with innovative, creative approaches, we aim to address the root causes of the challenges our participants face. With the support of compassionate donors, dedicated volunteers, and a committed team, The Art of War Project continues to transform lives and honor the service of those who have given so much.

We invite you to join us in our mission to provide veterans and first responders with the tools and support they need to overcome adversity, rediscover purpose, and live fulfilling lives. Together, we can create a brighter future for those who have sacrificed for our safety and freedom.
